FireFox 22 broken plugin download.
I just update today to FF22 and my FDM plugin is disabled so I thought I report this so they could get a fix out as soon as possible. I have plugin 1.5.7.9 FDM fdminst 3.9.2 build 1303.

You should reload the FDM installer (it's been updated some time ago) and read the FAQ before reinstalling FDM.

Re: FireFox 22 broken plugin download.
Here's is what I finally did to fix the broken plugin. I rebooted to the last working image of my computer and then restarted and uninstalled FDM completely and then I installed the latest FF22. Then installed FDM 3.9.2 b1303 again and rebooted the computer and now I have plugin 1.5.8 not my previous 1.5.7.9 version. I am guessing that plugin version wasn't removed by the latest installation FDM something the creators might want to look into to update should they release a new update again so that a new install will get rid of the old plugin and install the 1.5.8 version. Only thing could be sure is 1.5.7.9 either was not removed to be replaced by 1.5.8 version when I installed the latest FDM release as that is what is the incompatibility problem with FF22.
Forgot to mention I used CCleaner to clean the computer as well just so there wasn't any plugins or extension from 1.5.7.9 leftover that would stop FDM from working.

Re: FireFox 22 broken plugin download.
I agree with Storm Trooper: FDM should AVOID creating new, bug-filled features until it's got the basics under control. A download manager without a context-menu is like read-only memory--useless. I keep copies of my downloaded apps so that I can reinstall them when things go wrong. When FDM's Context-Menu entries disappeared, I repeatedly reinstalled FDM from my saved copy. No joy. Next I downloaded the latest version (always risky) only to find that it had installed itself automatically. So I ended up with no reinstallable copy. And guess what, I already need it!
Also, FDM has a lot of specialized settings, and it takes a lot of fiddling to get them to work the way that you want them to. So users should remember to manually record ALL of them before uninstalling an already working version of FDM, or they will have to re-figure what should be set to what all over again from scratch.
Yes, that sounds rediculous. And No, I'm not a happy camper.

Re: FireFox 22 broken plugin download.
I had reverted back to FireFox 17 and needed to reinstall FireFox 22. The trick was to go to [Tools.AddOns.Extensions] in FireFox, then [Remove] the old FireFox plugin. I don't think that you have to re-install FDM. Just go to [Options.Settings.Downloads.Monitoring] in FDM. Deselect, and then reselect FireFox from the list of monitored objects (so that FDM thinks that you have modified your selection) and press [Okay]. FireFox automatically added the correct FDM plugin after I restarted it. I think that is all that you have to do. If you don't remove the old plugin, then FireFox will tell you that FDM isn't compatible with FireFox--period.
I didn't do it the easy way, but in retrospect, I believe that these were the actions that ultimately led to success. Don't think it matters, but I'm running FDM 3.9.2 build 1303 on WinXp Sp3.

It DOES matter. FDM 3.9.3 puts Firefox plugin in a different location to be more compatible with currently supported Windows systems. Do read FDM FAQ about Firefox troubleshooting, please.dwathlexx wrote:Don't think it matters, but I'm running FDM 3.9.2 build 1303 on WinXp Sp3.
