I would like to suggest option to select/deselect all videos in the video capture window. Right now if you play a video and load it at different time frames and then click to download the video it will show all the points and that can be upwards of 10, which you need to deselect manually one by one.

I would like to suggest an option in the settings to have a certain key or keys combination to have FDM 5 stop monitoring download and allow the browser own downloader to download.

I would also like to suggest option in the settings to write down websites that FDM 5 should not download from. This would be very good to avoid downloading from filesharing websites that don't work with most download managers.

Seems FDM 5 can't download the video from the above website.

What about getting the installer to give you a choice of where to install.

I prefer not to load this sort of thing on my SSD C drive.

FDM 5 tray icon doesn't properly disappear after the program is shut down, it lingers on until you hover your mouse over it and then it disappears.

I'm an old user of FDM from when everyone used FlashGet, ReGet, Orbit and so on.
I'm a developer and understand your attempt to be modern. But you are clever in modernization if you offer old features with new modern UI! You omit all of lovely features of FDM in your 5.0 alpha: control over speed, sections, per download settings, and even batch download. Please bring them back.

I completely appreciate your effort to be modern. Thanks for attempt to keep FDM alive!

I use FDM 3.x till you release a fully functional version of FDM 5.0. I think you can do it and you have to do it.

Hey any info from the developers when we might see a new version of FDM 5?

I want to report again that video download is impossible in Chrome 64bit version, so it would be nice for this to be fixed, there are several bugs and issue that I also reported that would be nice to be fixed.

I'd also like to see more options in the settings, as I've already suggested have option to put website you wouldn't want FDM to download from, settings about default download directory, the ability to limit download speed on individual downloads, as well as the ability to use proxy.

The interface looks very good. However, a lot of features are missing, such as the ability to edit and update the download link (this is invaluable at times where the link is dead and needs to be refreshed). Also, batch downloading, and remote management are features that are really important. I hope these features will see light in the final version. Thanks!

In terms of bugs rather than features not implemented yet:

FDM 5 is not remembering my settings, at least in Settings>Network>New Download>Miscellaneous.

I keep setting 'If the file already exists' to 'Ask' rather than the default 'Rename', turning on 'Additional file extension for uncompleted download' and specifying the additional extension 'dm' as in FDM3, and turning 'Use hidden attribute for uncompleted download' off. But every time I stop FDM5 and then restart it (e.g. because I'm doing a computer restart), my settings have gone and the above settings are back to Rename, Off (and the extension field blank when turned back on) and On respectively. This is really quite annoying,

Also the bug is still there which others reported previously, that on starting a new download, the PREVIOUS download is selected in the list of downloads in the main FDM5 window, not the new one.

Personally, having both these bugs fixed is at the top of my list of wanted FDM5 developments.

Following them, the next most important (to me) features to get working would be:

1 A proper interface to set up the download groups rather than having to find and then hand edit a configuration file in a text editor, with the default download location for each group able to be specified.

2 New downloads allowing a download group to be chosen, with that choice then presenting a download location of first the default location for that group, then the most recent other locations members of that group have previously been downloaded to by FDM.

Both, basically, that functionality as it was in FDM3.

3 An improvement in FDM5 realising a download has stalled, and then restarting, especially after my having taken action to improve the connection. (FDM5 is nothing like as robust as FDM3 was in this situation, with me having to pause then restart FDM5 in these circumstances where FDM3 would just pick up that things were working again on its own.)

Earlier in this thread I requested an easy, accessible means to tell FDM5 not to intercept a particular download, as I'd been having to go through the Chrome menu to its extension page to turn off the FDM Chrome extension (and then back again to turn it on again afterwards) to do this. While I still think FDM5 should have such a means - whether it's it NOT intercepting an ALT-click on a download link, or having an option to switch monitoring off/on in the context menu of the taskbar icon or whatever - it's no longer a priority for me as I've found an alternative solution (a Chrome extension that puts an icon in the Chrome toolbar which - when pressed - produces a dropdown list of all installed extensions, which one can then turn on/off individually with a single click - so turning the FDM Chrome extension on/off is quick and easy when about to download from e.g. filesharing sites that FDM doesn't get on with).

When i go to the settings page and under the downloads tab when I check the box for perform a virus check and I select custom antivirus application, it wants me to select a torrent and there is no was to change it to a program, also in previous versions I could put the hashsum of a file for it to be checked and I cannot on this version.

I also want to report internet slowdowns with FDM5. I have problems with images properly loading at times, certain elements fail to load sometimes, sometimes the CSS doesn't load, etc...

I've obviously installed and uninstalled several times testing this and its definitely FDM5. I don't know if it an issue with my security program, I'm using Bitdefender IS 2015 or how FDM5 attaches itself to the browsers. I've noticed this only on Chrome(64bit), could be happening in Firefox, but I haven't used that Browser a lot.
