No need for apologising for doing very basic suggestion, can be easy sometimes to forget about things like that, running FF in safe mode disable any and all plugins and no ways to enable them from what I can see, so that not really of any help then xD did try to disable all but flashgot and/or FDM plugin but still no difference(and yes even disabled the 2 dictionaries I had (Danish and English) installed).

So yeah the only thing I got left from your suggestions to try now is a new profile, hope I can find out how, never had to since I got windows 10 xD. Don't know what Electrolysis is though

hmm... could try rebooting windows in safemode with networking (since I would need Internet to download things obviously :P) I guess, wouldn't that actually be the same and more kinda than "just" making a new profile?

Okay so restarting in safe mode with networking and then starting up FDM there actually worked and would allow me to begin downloading files, both with FDM's own plugin as well as through Flashgot, ofc this doesn't actually solve my problems (dont really want to restart in safe mode every time I need to download something xD, does suggest to me that problem probably not in FF or the plugins(this was in windows safemode, not FF safemode so FF plugins was still active), nor in FDM itself.

Restarting computer back to normal I tried turning off protection in my kaspersky internet security, shutting down anything actively running, from Discord, steam, battle.net app to things like Speedfan, Networx, CCleaner monitoring and even logitech mouse/keyboard software,(this is not the complete list just some of them) one by one trying to download between each (not turning anything back on before I got through everything), but still none of that worked. Not really sure where to look next :/

What really does strike me as odd now is that a custom entry in flashgot grabbing just the URL as argument does work(but as said makes batch downloading a pain since each get its own single download prompt), this really strike me as odd if the problem is not in FDM or FF+plugins

OMG I feel SOOOOOOO dumb now... issue was that FDM was not running "as Administrator", so dumb of Microsoft that that is even a thing, when I'm always using an administrator account on windows that you still have to do that shit... but yeah making sure on fdm.exe going into properties and set it to "run as admin" and then restarting FDM and all my troubles are gone...

But yeah thanks so much FDMUser12 for trying to help at least, even if it wasn't your suggestions that directly solved it in the end you did at least get me in the mood to try and fix the problem and yeah as said figured it out in the end

(and yeah since I can't remember the username I used to register here back long ago I can't log in nor make new account since my mailadress already in use, else I would have edited this in the last post instead xD)

You should always run your browser, FDM and other apps integrated with your browser as the same user (not necessary as Admin), otherwise they won't co-operate. Running any app as Administrator may be needed if you want to change some global settings, but in most cases (in Windows 7+) it is enough to allow UAC to make its work.

No Problem GummiBear just happy you are up and running.
For info running IN FIREFOX safe mode would need you to add any add-ons you want to test.
With regard to a new Profile: Make sure Firefox is NOT running, then In the Windows Run box type in firefox.exe -p <enter> and you will then be presented with Firefox Profile Manager where you can create , delete or set default your profile. I often create a new one to test an issue. when finished I delete it. When selecting to delete you are asked if you wish to delete all the settings etc. files. You can safely say yes coz the profile is totally separate from other profiles.

Advantage of a new profile for testing, is that it sets all Firefox settings to the Firefox defaults which allow you to then test whatever you wish without the possibility you (or an addon) changed something that now affects Firefox or a different addon.

Off topic I hate this Confirmation Code box. Sometimes it impossible to work out the code (and not I'm not colour blind) and it does not allow to you ask for a new code which you may be able to see (I take 3 attempts on average for each post).

Sent a message using the "Contact us" link at the bottom, can't sent a direct PM to you without logging in from what I can see :P

So what are you afraid of users must log in to PM for a reason otherwise they would get a flood of Spam from bots and users hiding so they don't get into trouble or something like that which I am scratching my head. PM requires registered users so to not register to PM makes one wonder what they have to hide.

Also can we return back to FDM 3.9.7 problem posting here as this has gotten out of hand if you have issues make separate posting so it can be addressed. All this rambling should be separated from FDM 3.9.7 issues.

Thanks Dev. Team.

I've installed and tested two downloads and FDM picked them up and downloaded as normal using Firefox 52.0b1 (BETA) . I am delighted to say that it looks promising you will not have to worry about FF52 Release breaking FDM2.9.7 when it arrives.

After installing 3.9.7 build 1631, I get this error message in Firefox. "Free Download Manager extension could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled." Extension is 2.2.3

I've tried this in both FF v50 & 51.

I got it working by uninstalling FDM, zapping all folders associated with FDM then reinstalling build 1631.

That is what I tell everyone using FDM don't keep it uninstall the older version completely and delete the FDM folder and reinstall to insure best compatibility and stability with current Browsers. And I myself found doing so keeps the plugins up to date in the browser so it works.

Cool just in time as my Win10 just had some terminated issues and did a complete shutdown yesterday. I will restore the image and update to the latest and use FF51.x again.

Thanks for the update.

UPdate: restored the last working image and updated software and FireFox to 51 after uninstalling FDM and then reboot and reinstalled lastest version then reimaged - rebooted. And it works now..with 51.

Thanks for the update.
