Why track old files and other complaints
Why track old files and other complaints
Why does the software continue to monitor the location of old files that have been downloaded. By definition, zip and rar files will eventually get unpacked and deleted. Why am I being bugged about the location of these files? If I rename a downloaded file then the interface is helpless: it can't or won't match the database entry to the new filename. Just give it up and quit monitoring old files! It would probably make for better efficiency anyway.
What exactly does the "clear history older than x days" setting do? I have mine set at 2 days and I took it to mean that all file download references in the database and in the cache older than 2 days would be automatically deleted. That isn't happening. At last glance, my previewcache folder contained over 3300 files. What gives here? Why is there no way to delete all this old stuff within the interface?

Hello, the setting clears the history of downloads from FDM. Could you clarify your actions? Have you tried to remove older files and found that they are not removed automatically or manually?
Re: Why track old files and other complaints
I know that I can manually delete the files myself, and occasionally I just blow the entire FDM folder away and let it rebuild itself. My question is, why should have I have to resort to this? Why doesn't the interface have a setting to clear out this bloat?

Understand your mood.
Individuals have also feedback on the "abnormal design" of FDM6 several times, but the developers ignored it.
Later, individuals completely abandoned FDM6, FDM3 is the historical highlight of FDM.
