FDM 3.9.x and Firefox new Australis interface
FDM 3.9.3 is not working under Firefox 31.0a1 (Nightly) Build 2014.04.05.
It's crashing immediately after editing the Max Value in install.rdf

Yes I did, but just in case I removed everything and started from scratch and it's still the same.
Firefox just starts and crashes immediately.
It looks like there are more problems with this.

PS: I have tried this on both Win7 and Win8.1 x64 OS, result is the same.
Re: FDM 3.9.3 and Firefox new Australis interface
Well, it seems you are right. Current FDM build 1360 works with Firefox 29 beta (new tab style), but crashes both Firefox 30 and 31 alphas.
FDM plugin is not the only one add-on that does't work properly with a new Firefox interface. For example, there are problems reported with Tab Mix Plus (may issues with tabs, possibly fixed), Extended StatusBar (shows nothing), QuickJava (shows wrong status icons), Vertical Tabs (shows ugly tabs).
You may try to restore classic interface and test FDM with Firefox alpha again. There is Classic Theme Restorer extension available on Mozilla Addons site.

Now I have tested Classic Theme Restorer. It seems to fix most of interface problems with old extensions in Firefox 29+, but FDM plugin 1.6.0.1 still crashes in Firefox 30+.

Thanks for reporting about the problem, especially to Usher.
We'll start to work on the issue as soon as Gecko SDK v30 will be released by Mozilla.

Alex, I am confused why this seems to have come as a surprise to you and Usher but should not have, as Parkd1 on 12/2/2014 raised the issue concerning FF30 Nightly in the FDM Firefox Plugin Announcements section supported by Rei Mar 2014 and later I confirmed issue 19/03/2014 with FF 30 Aurora. Some of these were responded to by Usher initially seeking clarification of FF, FDM & plugin Versions (which I certainly provided).
I would have confirmed issue still existed FF 30 Beta but to be honest nobody seemed interested in following up on our posts until now. I thank Usher confirming our findings you for your resolution intentions Alex. Regretfully I feel a month has already been lost and now FF 30 Aurora being moved to BETA is closing in.
Alex, may I ask please, does "We'll start to work on the issue as soon as Gecko SDK v30 will be released by Mozilla" mean when FF 30 moves to FF Beta (or even worse maybe to Release) that a fix will not be available in time for those of us using Beta (and maybe Release)? Those already using Aurora and Nightly cannot have the FDM FF plugin installed and FDM integration
I am not sure when Gecko SDK v30 will be released by Mozilla as a Google search showed no date info that I could find.
By the way (off subject but nobody, except Usher initially, seems interested in "Guest" and my April 2014 posts in the Post all Firefox ..." topic). The issue is a real problem that I feel needs addressing more than advised suggestions to date of: read FAQ Firefox troubleshooting & install switching anti-virus and firewalls etc. during FDM installation (WHICH DID NOT WORK anyway) because I have tried hours of EVERYTHING (as I reported) to fix issue and be able to tick Firefox monitoring without FDM message on opening telling me I need to enable plug-in in FF. which is already enabled in Firefox AND Plug-in integration with FDM IS WORKING as if FF monitoring is ticked (even went back to FF 26 to see if a non beta had same issue it DID.
Kind Regards
