Chrome Extension Stopped Working

In the last 2 days the chrome extension has stopped working. When i click on a link Win 10 download takes over.
When I run fdm only fdm,exe is running in Task manager. fdm_nativehost.exe is not showing at all. If I click on Chrome Apps the extension is shown as added. In fdm monitoring Chrome is checked.

I'm using Win 10 64 bit and fdm 3.9.7

Tried using new fdm version by copying a link, it downloads something but not the file.

Any suggestions please?

????? Appears i've fixed it but....
I deleted extension in Chrome Apps and reinstalled. FDM 3.9.7 is again picking up links as normal. But in Task Manager I now have
fdm.exe
fdm_nativehome.host PID 4584, 392k
fdm_nativehome.host PID 760, 616k

Is that normal?

Are you sure that you indicated the processes correctly? FDM should be 'fdm_nativehost.exe'

Yes I am positive I reported correctly. But today, whilst I am downloading (and after several shutdowns) it is as you say ...

fdm.exe = FDM
fdm_nativehost.exe = FDM native messaging host for Google Chrome

The loss of FDM's capture function has occurred without warning a number of times before. Cause unknown. This last time however, though I cannot be sure of the timings, I think there was a Chrome update. My solution has always been to delete then reinstall FDM and that process would ask if I wanted the Chrome extension. This last time i got a message to say the extension was installed. It appeared to be, but did not work. I then found if I removed the extension within Chrome Apps then reapplied it, all was ok.

My FDM plugin is 2.1.12 for 3.9.7 I think you should complete uninstall 3.9.7 and redownload 3.9.7 to get the newer plugin and try again.

I uninstalled FDM and the extension, deleted all FDM folders and rebooted. After the reboot, I re-installed and manually reconfigured FDM and voila! It works!
