Clarification of an option to correct translation

Could you please clarify what the "Maximum number of additional querying info downloads" option does? What behavior does it control? It seems to me that a lot of translators don't understand it, given that it's translated a bit differently in each language, in some somewhat confusingly.

This is about the downloads for which FDM requests their info (e.g. file size) from web server.

I thought that FDM requests info for every download. Or is that not the case?
