This year, we worked hard to provide you with the new features you voted for. Now, you can enjoy the new user-friendly interface, scheduler, batch downloads, etc. After numerous bug fixes the overall FDM performance got better.
The localization process was really something special. Volunteers from all over the world helped translate the FDM user interface. We are happy to be a part of such a friendly and helpful community.
Thank you, guys! You’re the best.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Nice program, thanks 🙂
One of the major things I am missing is that there is no possibility to force overwrite already downloaded files if they have the same name. Or to store files with server date and time.
These settings and really many many more have been in the older versions.
Hello Martin,
Thank you for suggestions! The option has been added to our TO-DO list.
Hello, how are you friends of FDM? I have a question for you, the preview plugin for the videos when they are downloading, sends me the following message: “Failed to open file Unknown Media type”. Please solve that error since I want to see how much the video leads. Thank you for your attention, have a nice day.
Hello Abraham,
Kindly specify the folowing:
1. OS version;
2. FDM full version;
3. Video URL;
4. How do you open incomplete video files? What program do you use?
Hello,
Is there a chance to add an option that the timestamp of downloaded files will be the actual date? If I download a file, I always have the timestamp from where the file last was changed on the server.
Hello Maik,
We will be adding an option to choose the desired behaviour to Settings soon.
Just today I’ve upgraded from 3.9.7 to 5.1 and it works very fine. Integration with Firefox is now perfect, with 3.9.7 and last FF update start to show some issue.
Thanks, great work well done.
I did not find the batch downloads? Where is it?
Dear User!
To use batch downloads, select the items you want to download, call the context menu, and click “Download selected items with FDM”.
I uninstalled 3.9.7 from my Windows 7 and then installed 5.1.34.6885. What a shocking difference!? I can no longer find a Download button on my website videos, and the main page is so confusing compared to the old one. Do you have a tutorial anywhere to help fix this or can I revert to an earlier version that behaves more like 3.9.7 (which was great!)
Using IE 10, I do not see anything about flash monitoring in the setup params of 5.1.34.6885?
Regarding the above note, I see now in the About tab of FDM that I am actually using version 5.1.34.6882 (a450176). Sorry for the confusion. I still cannot find how to turn on flash monitoring (display the Download button) in IE10/Win7. If I go back to 5.1.33 will I get the original UI experience? In the Context menu, I can only see “Download selected with FDM” which does not do anything. I do not find “Download with FDM” as was seen in 3.9.7.
Dear User!
Please give us a link to the website from where you try to download files.
What OS do you use?
Dear User!
The flash monitoring is automatically enabled when you activate the browser integration.
